Rains | Birchard Marketing was formed in 2010 when Jon Rains and Matthew Birchard assumed ownership of Rains Marketing, LLC. As an agency, we trace our roots back to 1987 when Jon’s father, Gary Rains, founded Rains Marketing. Jon began working for the agency in 1992, helping transition a traditional advertising agency into the digital age by creating the agency’s first websites. Matt was hired in 2002 as an Account Manager, and eventually assumed the role of General Manager. When Gary Rains began planning for retirement, transitioning the business to his son and long-time trusted employee was the perfect exit strategy.
We used to have clients of all shapes and sizes, but over time developed a knack for working with manufacturers, start-ups, financial services, and related businesses by responding to their needs and fulfilling unmet demand. Most agencies want to chase what’s sexy, and go after B2C business, pining for the chance to someday produce a Superbowl ad. Or go viral. We’re not that sort of agency. We know that there’s tremendous pleasure in winning, and helping our clients succeed keeps us going. We want to work with the big fish in the pond, and if our clients break into new ponds, let’s feast on smaller fish so we don’t get eaten ourselves.
Today, Rains | Birchard Marketing is a truly full-service creative agency and there’s very little you’d call “marketing” that we’d consider outside our wheelhouse. We strive to be a one-stop shop for our clients. We have established relationships with partners for production and more specialized creative development needs. Our cohesive, highly-productive team is nimble and works each day to deliver results for our clients by adding value.
